Turin DF64E Espresso Grinder

$373.00

From the same team that brought you the DF64 ELR; meet the DF64E.

The DF64E combines large 64mm Italian made burrs with a powerful 250W motor to deliver consistency, minimum clumping and a fluffy grind that is usually only found in grinders double its price. The DF64E can be used as a single dose grinder with the included bellow or as a traditional grinder with the 225g hopper and the touch screen with programmable doses.

The extremely low retention (ELR), stepless adjustment and beautiful wood accents make it a perfect grinder for any home espresso setup.

The DF64E is an espresso ONLY grinder due to the limited adjustment range.

Upgrade to SSP burrs for even better results!  Note that the adjustment lever will require to be re-set due to the SSP burrs being of a slightly different thickness than the OEM burrs.

Features:

  • Single or Electronic Dosing: The DF64E comes with both a bellow hopper and a traditional hopper with 3 electronic dosing options (single, double and manual).  Choose between single dosing or electronic dosing!
  • 64mm flat burrs: Choose between the standard stainless steel burrs, titanium burrs or DLC (Diamond-like-coating)
  • Extremely low retention (ELR): The DF64E was designed with an extremely low retention so that your coffee is always freshly ground.
  • Stepless Micrometric Adjustments: Unlimited adjustments with the stepless adjustment system.
  • Premium look: The painted aluminum body combined with the real wood accents give the DF64E a premium look.
  • Easy to clean:  Simply unscrew the 2 bolts on the top of the grinder to expose the grinding chamber.
  • 58mm dosing cup with metal collar included:  Grind directly into the included dosing cup or into your portafilter.

Great single dose grinder

Easy to use grinder. Looks aesthetically pleasing. I was surprised how well it grinds, it needs little distribution after grinding.

Amazing grinder! worth every penny

Bought it mostly for the electric dosing, low retention, speed and being less noisy, but the biggest surprise was the amazing flavor clarity.
Moved up from a GAGGIA MDF, which was OK for Espresso, but did not realize how much murky the flavor was compared to this grinder.
The consistency is very good, and hardly need to use the WDT anymore, as it's virtually clump less.
The dosing ring is not even required when grinding a single shot, but we still use it for double-shot when going directly into the basket (although you could get away without it with zero mess).

The simple operation, setup and esthetic is way more than the online pictures/videos prepared me to, so another plus.

So far very impressed with every aspect of thus grinder!

*Start from the coarsest setting when dialing your first shot, if the beans are oily, the mill could plug on the finest setting.

And of course, great service from Coffeeaddicts as always.

Grinder great, screen not so much.

Let me start by saying that this is my first dedicated espresso grinder that I own so I don’t have a ton of experience, and I’m relatively new to the espresso game, so this review is coming from a normal guy.
The fit and finish of the grinder is great. The walnut accents are very nice, and the machine is heavy duty feeling.

I’ve only been using the single dose so far with the bellows, and the workflow has been incredibly easy. Without rdt you have about 0.2g of retention still, even with the bellows. With rdt there is virtually no retention.

The ground coffee is very fluffy with almost no clumping. It is very easy to dial in. On an espresso blend, I started at setting #35 and had it dialed in for the first time after about 3 shots.

My big complaint is the sensitivity of the screen. It takes 4-5 presses before it does what you want it to do and changing your grind time is very frustrating because each click is 0.1seconds. So you have to click it maybe 50 times to increase 1 second. This is super frustrating.

As a result, I’m giving it a 3/5 since the touch screen is the big draw for this product. If it worked properly I would have given it 5/5.
