Suitable for standard portafilters accepting a 58/58.5mm tamper base.

Non-magnetic metal - messy with a bottomless and l best suited for specialty coffee

This is not a bad product, but buyers should note it is not magnetic and won't work with magnetic funnels/accessories.

If you like more classical espresso or seek centred bottomless extraction this is not for you. It's probably great to get an even extraction and water distribution in the puck, but it makes the extraction very messy and random with a bottomless compared to non coated versions, classic IMS or VST baskets I used in the past.

This is probably a good affordable alternative to very expensive weird wafo/weber/sworks high extraction baskets for light roasts. If that's what you are after go for it, but if you just want to upgrade a stock poorly made basket to make solid/consistent espresso or of you have magnetic accessories or if you only use a bottomless I'd recommend sticking with VST or going with other IMS products like the big bang.

Should've got this sooner!

I got this because the Gaggia Classic Pro comes with a 14 gram basket, and all the recipes I find usually recommend around 18 grams. Really didn't think it would make much of a difference, except I was wrong. Well worth the coin because it fits the portafilter better and I can get a better tamp as well. It's also way less messy since it fits the dosing cup from my grinder better than the stock one. And of course the better tasting espressos have now caused me to be very well caffeinated lately. If I'd had a brain, I would've bought the IMS shower scren as well, but the stock one was not really collecting grinds that much anyway. Future upgrade I guess. Anyway, you really should buy one of these if you are serious about espresso. Why they ship machines with baskets that don't fit the filter snugly, I have no clue. Get yourself a quality tamper and distributor, and you will be good for making coffee for a long time. Note that I have not upgraded anything else on the machine, which is my first espresso machine.
