Unlike regular gaskets that are made from rubber these do not have any smell or taste whatsoever, and are easy to change since they will not bake rock hard like rubber does.    If you have ever struggled to change an old gasket you cannot help but notice the awful smell and the black soot that comes off the rubber.  And that is what you are potentially consuming with each drink.

Silicone gasket

Functional

Works well (Profitec Pro 500). Marginally thicker than the stock gasket but "squishier", so the portafilter handle works out to be the same. No leaks. No idea as to longevity (it's only been two weeks at time of review).

Wrong size twice

My machine is a E61 group for lever & after the 8.5 & 8mm are the wrong thickness(too thick). After looking around I finally purchased the same brand of gasket but for 6mm instead. I wish the descriptions should explicitly tell you which group head type it should fit. Otherwise the service is fast.

Perfect fit on Profitec Pro 500 PID

Been using the 8mm red gasket for 3 years, wasn't a right fit, slightly too thin, handle has to go to 4:30 to fully engage the group head, but other than that still performing flawlessly. The 8.5mm blue is a perfect fit. Bought two, perhaps should've bought two more. Shipping to Toronto area beat the ETA by two days!
